Since all internal positions are engaged primarily in serving the interests of Indigenous people, the Red Rock Indian Band shall give preference to Indigenous people who possess the requisite skill set and experience.


Employment Counsellor (Part-Time)

The Red Rock Indian Band is now seeking applicants for the position of Employment Counselor. The Employment Counselor under the direction of Chief and Council will primarily be responsible for assisting members of the Red Rock Indian Band achieve their career goals by helping with job search strategies, resume writing, and preparing for job interviews. The Employment Counselor will also be responsible for helping Red Rock Indian Band members plan for transitions into new careers, by identifying their interests and helping to create a plan to map out the process. Interested applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • College Diploma, or University Degree in Education, Human/Social Science, or Psychology (Preferred)

  • Minimum of 1-year experience in Counseling or Human/Social Services

  • High level of personal integrity.

  • Professional/mature demeanor under stressful situations.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Confident, consistent decisive personality.

  • Must be able to work with little supervision; must be self-directed.

Lands & Resources Consultation Intern

The Red Rock Indian Band is currently seeking applicants for an Intern position in the Consultation Lands and Resources Office. Under the Direction of Chief and Council and the Consultation Office Staff the intern will be responsible for the following:

  • Assisting the Core Consultation Point Person with all community consultation

  • Helping act as a consultation contact for industrial organizations as well as the Federal and Provincial government

  • Oversee GIS mapping of Traditional Values in the RRIB traditional territory

Qualifications:

  • College Diploma or University Degree within the last two years

  • No prior experience in related field of study

  • Analytical and problem solving skills to review, analyze and evaluate data and information
